As is the case every year, the European automotive sector has awarded the “Car of the Year” award to its winner this year as well. The winner of 2024 is the Renault Scenic E-Tech, which was announced at the Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS) in a ceremony. In this prestigious award, celebrated for the 61st time, Renault took the top spot with 329 votes, winning the “Car of the Year” title for the seventh time in its history.
Car of the Year in Europe 2024: Renault Scenic E-Tech
In the competition, the BMW 5 Series, with a total of 308 votes and 19 best votes, came in second place just behind the Renault Scenic. Third place went to the new Peugeot 3008, with 197 votes and 3 best votes. Among the finalists were names like the Kia EV9 (190 points), Volvo EX30 (168), BYD Seal (131), and Toyota C-HR (127). In this year’s competition, four out of seven finalists were fully electric models, while the other three had fully electric and/or plug-in versions.
The award ceremony, which returned to GIMS this year after being held at the Brussels International Motor Show last year, became the opening event of the Geneva International Motor Show again.
The jury for the 2024 Car of the Year was made up of 58 members from 22 countries. The goal of the jury was to determine the best new car on the market. The SUV’s selection as the best among the seven finalists by the 22 jury members highlighted the Renault Scenic E-Tech.
